Ebusua Dwarfs have completed the signing of highly rated centre-back Joseph Mensah from fellow Division One side Soccer Intellectuals, as the Cape Coast club intensifies its push for promotion to the Ghana Premier League.
The 22-year-old defender has been a standout performer in the Access Bank Division One League, establishing himself as a defensive pillar for Soccer Intellectuals during the 2025/26 season.
Mensah featured in 27 league matches, clocking 2,375 minutes of action. He also contributed a goal, picked up seven yellow cards, and earned two MVP awards, underscoring his influence at the heart of the defence.
Mensah's performances have not gone unnoticed. He was recently named the best defender at the just-ended Division One League Super Cup, further cementing his reputation as one of the most promising centre-backs in the division.
The club announced the signing on their official social media channels, welcoming the former Soccer Intellectuals "Defence Minister" to the Ebusua Dwarfs family. Head coach John Aduafu has highlighted the new recruit as a key addition to a squad he believes is ready to achieve promotion.
"The impression is that we are ready to face any team, deliver, and get every result we want," Aduafu stated after an impressive opening-game performance.
Mensah joins a host of new signings at the club, including Alhassan Adamu, Emmanuel Arcadio Jnr Amissah, and Godfred Eshun. With the Cape Coast faithful eager for a return to the top flight, the club is making clear its intent to bring Premier League football back to the city.
