Medeama have expressed their appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama after receiving US$30,000 during a courtesy visit to the Jubilee House.
Medeama, the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, were among three clubs received by the President on Tuesday, alongside MTN FA Cup winners Nations FC and Women's Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
The clubs visited the Jubilee House to present their trophies to President Mahama and engage with him ahead of their respective continental campaigns.
During Medeama's visit, Mahama extended his best wishes to the team ahead of their CAF Champions League assignment against TP Mazembe and donated US$30,000 towards their trip to Lubumbashi.
Medeama are preparing for the second leg of their preliminary-round tie against the Congolese giants after losing the opening encounter 1-0 in Tarkwa.
The Tarkwa-based club will now travel to Lubumbashi needing to overturn the deficit to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Medeama expressed their gratitude to President Mahama for the gesture and encouragement.
“We are deeply grateful for this gesture and the encouragement from the highest office of the land,” the club said.
The Ghanaian champions are expected to depart for Lubumbashi on Tuesday night ahead of the decisive return leg.
