Ghanaian attacker Prince Ampem delivered a decisive second-half performance as Shanghai Port claimed a 3-2 Chinese Super League victory away to Wuhan Three Towns.
Ampem scored twice in four minutes to overturn an early deficit and secure three valuable points for Kevin Muscat’s side.
Wuhan began strongly at Wuhan Sports Center Stadium and went ahead in the third minute through Jhonder Cadiz. Shanghai Port struggled to create a clear opening before the interval, entering the break trailing by a single goal.
The visitors responded quickly after the restart. Zhen Wei levelled the match in the 50th minute, creating the platform for Ampem to take charge. The Ghanaian winger put Shanghai Port ahead in the 55th minute, then struck again four minutes later after an assist from Oscar Melendo.
Those goals turned a difficult contest in Port’s favour and underlined Ampem’s value in the attacking third. Wuhan pulled one back through Antoine Leautey in the 75th minute, but Shanghai Port defended their advantage through six minutes of added time.
Ampem was named player of the match by Sofascore, receiving a 8.2 rating and 73 percent of fan votes. His clinical double proved the difference in a hard-earned away win.
