Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has stressed the need for Ghana to become more creative in the final third after his side's goalless draw against Tanzania in an international friendly ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Black Queens dominated possession for long spells in Casablanca on Monday and fashioned promising openings but were unable to convert their superiority into goals against a disciplined Tanzanian defence.
Reflecting on the performance, Bjorkegren was pleased with his team's defensive display but admitted there is still room for improvement in attack before the continental tournament begins.
"I think it was a decent first half. Good defense. I wish we had created a few more chances. I think we started the second half much better. We found the zone two more often."
The Swedish coach believes Ghana showed encouraging signs after the restart by getting into dangerous areas more frequently, but insisted the team must do more to turn possession into clear-cut chances.
The Black Queens controlled much of the contest and kept Tanzania under pressure for extended periods, yet lacked the cutting edge needed to break the deadlock.
Despite the result, the friendly formed another important step in Ghana's preparations, allowing the technical team to continue refining tactics and building momentum ahead of WAFCON.
