The Ghana Football Association's nationwide talent identification programme for the Black Starlets will make its next stop in the Volta Region on Sunday, July 6, as head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle continues the search for Ghana's next generation of U-17 players.
The exercise will be held at the Ho Sports Stadium from 9:00 a.m., where young footballers from across the region will have the opportunity to impress the national team's technical staff.
Coach Mingle and his assistants will assess players through a series of matches and drills, focusing on their technical ability, tactical understanding, physical attributes and overall potential as they begin assembling the next Black Starlets squad.
The nationwide exercise is open to boys born in 2010 and 2011, with the Ghana Football Association aiming to cast its net across the country in search of emerging talent.
Players who stand out during the Volta Region trials will earn places in the next phase of the selection process at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. There, the shortlisted players will undergo further evaluation before the final squad begins to take shape.
The talent identification programme forms part of the Association's long-term strategy to strengthen Ghana's youth national teams by ensuring promising players from every region are given the opportunity to compete for places in the national setup.
The scouting exercise has already visited several parts of the country and remains a key step in preparations for the next Black Starlets cycle, with the technical team determined to assemble a competitive squad capable of restoring Ghana's status among Africa's leading youth football nations.
