Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku says Ghana's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are progressing positively as the team enters the final phase of training in Providence, Rhode Island.
The Black Stars arrived in Rhode Island on Thursday evening after departing Virginia, where they had completed a week-long training camp following their international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his 26-man squad resumed training on Friday as they step up preparations for their Group L opener against Panama.
Issahaku expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere in camp and the work being done on the training pitch.
"Um, so far, so good. The energy and everyone in camp is ready, and the training is going well. We are just getting ready. For me personally, I have enjoyed the training we are doing so far, and I think it's positive because I can see changes. We're getting fit and getting ready for the game."
The Virginia camp featured intensive sessions at American University and D.C. United's training ground, while the squad also interacted with members of the Ghanaian community in Alexandria during a farewell dinner.
Ghana will continue preparations in Providence before travelling to Toronto for their opening World Cup match against Panama on June 17.
The Black Stars will then face England in Boston on June 23 before concluding their group campaign against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
