Ghanaian midfielder Ronald Donkor has signed a new long-term contract with MLS side Red Bulls New York.
The 21-year-old inked a new three-and-half-year deal that will keep him at the New York club until 2030, and has an option to extend for a further year.
Donkor has been impressive in the new campaign, featuring in 14 matches and delivering a five-goal contribution.
“Ronnie has been an integral part of our team this season and he has a very bright future ahead of him,” said Head Coach Michael Bradley. “We are excited to see Ronnie continue to develop and to continue to represent our club on and off the pitch.”
Donkor joined Red Bulls New York in 2023 and was part of the team that reached the final of the MLS in 2024, as they lost to LA Galaxy.
“Ronnie has developed into a really important member of our club, and we are very excited to keep him with the club for the long-term,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “He is a very hard worker that gives his all for our club and we are looking forward to seeing him continue to succeed here.”
Since making his debut, Donkor has played 54 MLS games and has scored a goal and contributed 8 assists.
