Augustine Okrah heads into the final round of the Ghana Premier League season on the verge of winning a second Golden Boot, 12 years after first claiming the award with Bechem United.
Okrah currently leads the scoring chart with 15 goals after netting twice against Asante Kotoko over the weekend.
The experienced attacker first won the league’s top scorer award during the 2013-14 season when he scored 16 goals for Bechem United while operating mainly as an attacking midfielder.
Now back at the club, Okrah has another opportunity to finish as the league’s top scorer heading into Bechem’s final game against Berekum Chelsea.
However, the race remains open.
Samuel Attah Kumi of Bibiani Gold Stars and Richmond Opoku of Young Apostles are both on 13 goals and will still fancy their chances of overtaking Okrah on the final day.
With the Golden Boot race set for a dramatic finish, all eyes will now be on the final round of matches.
