Ghana international Ibrahim Sulemana was in action for Cagliari on Monday night and helped the side to secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Atalanta in the Italian Serie A.
In the Round 34 fixture, the midfielder missed out on a starting role but had the opportunity of coming on in the second half.
Sulemana was introduced into the game in the 56th minute, replacing Alessandro Deiola and being tasked to provide a solid defensive cover to ensure Cagliari protects their narrow lead.
At the time, the home team was leading Atalanta 3-2 after scoring very early in the second half through Genarro Borrelli.
Before that decisive goal, both Cagliari and Atalanta had scored two goals each in the first half and went into the break on level pegging.
Living up to the task on the matchday, Ibrahim Sulemana put up a top display to ensure Cagliari maintained their slim lead until the end of the contest.
Unfortunately, Kamaldeen Sulemana who was on the bench for Atalanta could only watch on as his side suffered a disappointing away defeat.
