Dormaahemaa forms NGO to address adolescent issues
Nkrankwanta (B/A), Oct. 26, GNA – The Adolescents Development International, a non-governmental organisation, has been formed to complement government’s efforts at educating and directing the youth on adolescent issues.   Â
The NGO seeks to ensure the revival of traditional practices that can help shape the lives of young people to become responsible adults.  Â
The Dormaahemaa, Odeneho Akosua Fima Dwabeng II, who established the NGO, announced these when she led some queenmothers to undertake clean-up exercise in communities within the Dormaa Traditional Area.   Â
She said that the NGO would work to prevent teenage pregnancy, which has affected the development of girls in the area.   Â
Odeneho Dwabeng called on school authorities, youth and opinion leaders and parents in Dormaa to support the NGO to achieve its objectives.   Â
She said the NGO would be launched on Saturday, November 10, at Dormaa-Ahenkro, and said the Dormaahene Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang-Badu II, and Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, Omanhene of Tepa Traditional Area, would attend the event.
